Haley & Aldrich
Engineering and environmental consulting company Haley & Aldrich embarked on major rebrand that led to its refined positioning as the firm that develops creative approaches to deliver exceptional value and efficiency for its clients. To reflect that brand visually, the firm worked with a creative agency to develop a bold, innovative visual identity using fresh and energetic colors and a logo that represents how the firm looks at things differently. As part of the brand roll out, the Haley & Aldrich marketing and administrative teams wanted a solution that would deliver brand assets like business cards, brand-education collateral and posters, and stationery to 25 offices across the country.
Concerned that their current printing vendor wouldn’t be able to respond to their expanded needs, Haley & Aldrich embarked on a journey to find a printing vendor with a “deeper bench.” Qualifications for their search included creative opportunities, where the printer could help refine design ideas the company had, an online ordering portal for seamless distribution of materials across the national organization’s two dozen offices and the ability to deliver on tight timelines. After an RFP and nationwide search, Haley & Aldrich selected The Ambit Works and Ambit Creative Group, a printing and design group right in their very own neighborhood of Cambridge.
Ambit was able to apply its consultative approach and collaborate with Haley & Aldrich not only to get the rebranded stationery and marketing assets out to the company’s many offices, but also to provide solutions they hadn’t even considered. Ambit arrived at the first meeting with a full team of employees from every department, each ready with their own set of ideas on how to improve the process or design of the rebranded stationery.
From the very beginning, Ambit has acted as a designconsultant with true brand understanding and vision, advising on everything from logo placement, color management and how the logo will look on particular materials, the most environmentally-friendly materials to be consistent with Haley & Aldrich’s brand identity, and more.
Through the custom online order portal that Ambit developed, Haley & Aldrich is consistently able to meet tight deadlines for stationery, report materials, business cards and folders. Business card proofing has gone from a three-day process to a few minutes. And the online ordering system lets them track order history to advise the proper amount of items to order based on an office’s or department’s past usage.
Finally, Ambit has taken a project management role for Haley & Aldrich. In initial stages of the rebrand, 15 to 20 different projects would be at various stages. Ambit was able to manage each, ensuring that Haley & Aldrich was providing the correct files and information to get the order completed on deadline, and advising on any budget increases for rush orders.
